Bridges Overview: Bridges in Mathematics is a comprehensive K-5 mathematics program that equips teachers to fully implement the common core state standards in a manner that is rigorous, coherent, engaging, and accessible to all learners. Number Corner:

Number Corner is a program of skills practice as well as ongoing encounters with broader mathematical concepts. It features daily 20-minute workouts that introduce, reinforce, and extend skill and concepts related to the critical areas of study at each grade level.

First Grade workouts include: Calendar Grid, Calendar Collector, Days in School, Computational Fluency, and Number Line.

Science

Mystery Science Overview

Mystery Science is an innovative, standard-aligned, hands-on curriculum that teaches children how to think like scientists. Phenomena-driven instruction helps kids to better understand and communicate about the world around them through writing, discussion, and exploration.

Units of Study in First Grade include: Animal Traits & Survival, Plant Traits & Survival, Day and Night Patterns, and Light, Sound & Communication.

Social Studies

First grade students participate in embedded Social Studies lessons through our EL Education language arts curriculum and supplemental Scholastic News articles.
